Commercial Description:
Maibock, your bock, our bock, we all scream for spring! This crisp, malty lager was brewed to celebrate the late arrival of spring and to help ward off that long rainy winter. Aromas for fresh lilies, slight caramel and a touch of yeast, this pale lager goes down easy with just a hint of hop bitterness and helps to brighter you mood as we all sing “Rain, rain go away and come back next winter!” OG 13.98 ˚P fg 1.9 ˚p Alcohol by volume 6.46% 36 IBU’s

Draft at the brewpub. Light amber color with a lightly lacing white head. Light caramel aroma with a little grassy hop. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is caramel with a surprising dose of citrus/grass bitter. Ends lightly sweet with lingering bitter. [I used that word in my brewpub notes hours before I saw HighWine’s rating]. Quite nice.

Seasonal tap at the brewery. Straw color, thin white head. Faint nose witha touch of sour apple. Good balance of hops and malt. The bittering hops linger

10 ounce sample tasted at Rubcon’s Maibock Festival. Faint, grainy, metallic hopped aroma with some cardboardy aromas, too. Transparent golden body with a small foamy off-white head. Sprizy, rather carbonated start with some sweet malts present. Some honey-like flavors then follow. Finishes with a mild metallic hoppiness. Pretty drinkable stuff.

Pours golden with medium head. Aromas are mildly malty. Flavors are a bit sweet. It’s an average brew, nothing really stands out about it.
