Aroma of toasty caramel malt and a little bit of Pacific Northwest Hops. Nice caramel malt flavors. Not too sweet though. A little toasty malt too. Finish is mildly hoppy. Probably more crisp than anything. A nice amber ale. Probably the best thing I have had from this brewery. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2006 5 ounce sample tasted at the Fair Oaks Brewfest. Musty, yeasty, sweet, candy sugar aroma. A touch of ethanol is also present. Seems way off for the style. Not the best aroma. May be due to the plastic cup, though. Amber body with a small off-white head. Very malty, somewhat sweet flavor, which finishes with lots of peaty flavors. Drinkable and tasty. This is kind of like a lighter-colored baby scotch ale. Tasty.
