Commercial Description:
This monstrous version of our IPA has been overloaded with everything from the malt to the hops, even the tunes we rocked out to during the brew day were huge. this bottle conditioned Double IPA is abound with aromas of citrus hops, English toffee, and fresh baked biscuits. Carmel notes, hoppy lovin’ and slight yeastie notes jump off your tongue.
Enjoy this bottle conditioned beer in a large snifter slightly warmer than normal with the one who keeps you warm at night.
82 IBUs

I am extremely surprised of the low low scores of this beer, i mean its not the best IIPA around but it was very decent... here we go, Pours a bottled honey colour, with some decent head ... is very balanced (abit strange in an IIPA) is very smooth ... glad to try!

Pours medium copper with a thin cream colored head. Overly sweet malt astringent nose and flavor. Um, where are the hops? Thin body.

750ml bottle from BevMo Carmel Mountain. Pours amber with a fair off white head that stays well and leaves some lace. Aromas of slight citrus over grains and slight caramel. Flavor is citrus mostly and a little pine slight caramel and grain behind it but harsh carbonation and not good balance leads this to not be all that good of an IIPA..

750ml bottle. Corked and caged. Poured a clear dark orange color. Head was off white with a yellow tint. It retained its height pretty well and left some lace behind on the glass. Smelled of graham cracker, cinnamon, and fruit cake. Sweet on the tongue with a warm splash of alcohol and mild to moderate hop bitterness of about 4 out of 10. Medium bodied. Malt and spice flavors predominated. I tasted toffee, cinnamon, brown sugar, and raw alcohol. Not much in the way of hop flavor other than some dried spruce. I didn’t particularly like this one as a double IPA, but it would fit well into the imperial red category.

750 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a big sudsy white head. The aroma is moderately strong and reveals peaches, some citrus, dust and biscuit. The flavor has biter hops in the forefront, with pine, caramel and citrus rounding out the sides. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is long with lingering caramel. Overall: I thought this was a pretty decent IPA. Way under-rated.

Caged and corked, this poured with a big ol’ head of foam, that after a brief flurry of activity, slowly but surely filed into nothingness. The beer itself is metallic orange. I’d call the aroma acidic, but hard to draw. This drinks with an assertive hoppiness, earthy and yeasty, and a bit of a citric bite. The foundation is solid enough to keep it all afloat, but maybe not as rigid as some would like. Respectable. (#3389, 4/8/2008)

Amber red color with a fleeting head. Nice pit fruit and floral hop sweet smell. Medium body. Flavors are apples, plums earthy yeast, and floral hops with a slight boozyness to finish. More Barleywine than i2pa flavors here. 987

I bought this bottle about three months before drinking, hoping that it will help it age. It pours like a normal beer and doesnt quit have the normal double IPA look as its pretty clear (tan yellow). It has a nice flavor but for its genre its pretty light. Its nicely made but needs some more hops and some real flavor. I guess I understand its low rating, but its still a good beer, but not quite DIPA
