Blue Moon Belgian White Ale

Poured a golden tan with a very foamy head. Smelled pretty pleasant being slightly fruity. It tasted like a wheaty/banana-ish hefeweizen and was pretty decent. It was my first experience with blue moon and although wheat beers aren’t usually my thing, this was pretty enjoyable and drinkable.

is this a Coors product or Molson - or are they now under the same banner? Either way, it is an attempt to bring Belgian ale into the North American mainstream. That is a worthwhile effort, and it is nice to even see a witbier when one goes into a 7-11. However, this is hardly the best. I agree with the raters who compared it to orangeade, or who said they would rather see Hoegarden on tap than this. Blue Moon tastes more like a Yankee hefe with spices than a Belgian. It looks nice, and there is some coriander and orange peel. It is not bad - perfectly drinkable stuff.

Draught Orangeish beer with a good, dense white head. Coriandersoup, even not citrussy, spicy. Rather sweet flavour, with nary any sourness, and just tons of coriander. Very slick MF - soupy, as said. Ouch. Even Hoegaarden is a relief, compared to this.

If new to the craft beer world within the last 5 years, its hard to deny this beer probably helped you along in the beginning. Pours a hazey, cloudy orangeish yellow colour with a fairly large head. Aroma is enticing, soft fruit, oranges, cloves and coriander. Taste is wheaty, sweet with a soft creamy texture.

12oz twist-off bottle. Pours hazy orange, with white foamy head. Aroma of spice and orange zest. Flavor of wheat, spice, and a dirty sink finish. Vague attempt of a Belgian Wit.

Had it on tap off 128 in Boston (before the brewery/restaurant closed). Good experience. Citrus nose. Cloudy appearance. Very bubbly. Good choice on a sunny 4th of July to bring in the fireworks.

Poured opaque orange with a thin head that quickly dissipated. Fragrance of fruit and wheat. Flat mouth feel, then fizzy, and definite citrus tang with very faint echo of wheat. This concluded with an orangey bitterness and then little else. Ok, its beer...orange ade beer, still not bad on a summer day, but not much to offer in the way of complexity.
