I was disappointed in light of the fact I really like Blue Moon. Was hoping this would be a better quality. It did have kind of a cool color when poured. Lose the brown sugar... it did not help the taste. pauljackson1 (25), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Bottle - Pours dark amber, off-white head. Flavors of sweet malt, spices, carmel, masked hops. Medium bodied - not much to tell via aroma other than smells like sweet malt. Was expecting a bolder flavor for an abbey, but it was just okay. scottw86 (185), Maryland, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Poured a clear brownish color with a foamy/bubbly off-white head. Not much aroma, but mainly of Carmel. Aroma reminded me a lot of Coors actually. Taste is very smooth and starts off with some fruity notes. Finish is watery with hints of caramel. Too much carbonation? Maverick34 (729), New York, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Bottle - lol this was a dubbel? It was ok, but I thought it was just supposed to be some weird ale. Interesting to see what coors’ take was on it. The brown sugar was nice. I guess better than regular coors. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 2, 2009 12 oz. bottle - $1.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. As it is not yet March 08, 2009, I’ll assume that’s a ’best by’ date.
Appearance: Pours a clear, dark, reddish-brown body with a medium-sized, off-white head.
Smell: Faintly sugary, ever so roasted, nut-strewn malt nose with some fruit notes and, like the taste, some odd, distant metallic twang.
Taste: Lightly roasty, lightly nutty malts with a meager dose of dark Belgian candi sugar for sweetness. A bit of apricot and apple fruitiness. Hint of yeast. There’s a curious, though light metallic kick coursing through this beer -- like smuggling out a rare coin in your mouth. Crisp, lightly roasty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin. Medium-plus carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s no dubbel, that’s for damn sure, but I guess you gotta shove it somewhere. However, it did pair well with the flick It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. It does have that going for it. tgncc (845), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2009 Ok beer. Good for what it is. The appearance is a reddish brown, decent off-white head. Aroma was light, mainly malts and some molasses. The flavor was somewhat true to the style, with a sweetness imparted from candy sugar, malts, spices. Sweet finish tempered by a small amount of hops. Not bad. More a session beer than a true abbey dubbel in the tradition of ommegang and others. smashteroid (251), USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 1, 2009 This was...not a very good beer. Amber color, fizzy head. Five years ago I would have enjoyed this beer, but now it’s below-average.
