| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 26, 2009 Pours reddish brown with a smallish white head. Aroma is sweet with a bit of yeast. Mouth feel is medium with a good amoutn of carbonatioin. Falvor is pretty one dimensional with sweet malt dominating. While this was not offensive it tasted nothing like a Belgain Abbey ale. Sad, since I really think the original Blue Moon is a good example of it’s style. jeremytoni (1127), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Earthy malty aroma.
Flavour is nutty dark roast malt and sweetness of the sugar. A light woody bitterness keeps some balance. A little rough in the finish VTHopHead (937), Barre, Vermont, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Bottle - Poured a a clear, dark ruby red amber in color with a small off-white head. A small amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty and slightly sweet with a small hint of Belgian yeastiness. Flavor is also a bit sweet, but with some hops providing an OK balance. Not strongly flavored, a bit thin, but a good drinking beer... not heavy at all. Definitely not a "dubbel" at 5.6%... actually could be a good "session" beer... | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 16, 2009 Bottle from Liquor Stop in Highland, IN. This seems a bit lightweight to be called a Dubbel, a claim not made on the bottle (mayhaps an admin needed the style tick), but it’s not a bad drink. It pours a clear reddish brown body with a fizzy pale tan head that soon reduces to a ring. It smells of sweet bread coated with molasses with a splash of runny caramel and a light floral scent. It’s a bit thin and delivers flavors reflective of the nose with perhaps a touch more caramel. Sweet finish. Okay. maniac (2773), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Very clear dark copper body with a large frothy off-white head. Sweet sugar and corn aroma with some caramel malts. Sweet caramel and light molassas flavor, a bit sugary with some slight roasted malt hints. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 11, 2009 12oz bottle from Publix Supermarkets (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy dark brown color with thin white-tan head. Aroma is malty and sweet with notes of caramel, molasses and floral hops. Flavor is also malty and sweet with some notes of chocolate, caramel, honey and ripe dark fruit. Generally light to medium body with a fairly quick finish. Better than I expected and definitely a beer from Blue Moon that I can drink on occasion. surfmurf (77), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 9, 2009 I really think BLUE MOON has hit the nail on the head with this. I was surprised by their Belgian wheat and gave this a try and found a heluva winter brew. In a pilsner this had an excellent aromatic bouquet with nice lacing and a rich creamy taste with just a hint of some slight fragrance which i could not really describe. A Definite Winner
