This is about as much a dubbel as the tap water in my kitchen. Boring, boring, boring. Like a Coors with a slightly darker color. Stay away from this one. GaltScat (195), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Poured a clear copper, slightly amber tones. Well retained foamy white head with noticeable lacing. Weak nose of mild caramel and vapid sugar. Barely noticeable malt presence. Cardboard tinges. Watery mouth feel. Vacant palate. Overall, very boring and underwhelming. sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Tasted 1/8/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with an amber hue. Spicy aroams with notes of cinnamon and ginger. Pine citrus and mint aromas. Rounded nose. Light to medium bodied and tastes like applesauce. Peppery. but too fruity. Fake sweet. Honey and a mild lime flavor. Sugary and bready. Mild grainy cereal flavor. Too sweet. Too grainy. Too sticky. No real niche or season. Light toast and light palate. Blah! | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Clear medium brown body, thick cream head. Toasty nose with light caramel notes. Rather delicate, sweet body, with brown sugar and toast notes, finishing with light bitterness. Not very complex or compelling. Better than most macros, but I’m almost appalled this is classified as an Abbey Dubbel. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 31, 2008 12 oz bottle as gift from the fridge faries. Clear dark amber with medium off-white head. Light semi-sweet caramel aroma with corn and slight orange or other citrus. Flavor is actually surpisingly brown sugar that I would imagine is from the belgian cany sugar with corn, caramel, slight citrus, a little bit of hops as well. Medium to full body that is hotly carbonated. Not bad as bad as I expected but it still leaves that sick to your stomach feeling. StFun (534), Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Not really sure why this is a "winter ale" but hey, whatever. Pours orange and looks about like a "regular" full moon. Kind of a sweet taste (maybe the candy sugar another poster spoke of). Nothing really stand out. It was there, I drank it. I like Blue Moon and liked this one OK, but wouldn’t seek it out again. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 30, 2008 07 version. Pours a somewhat light copper/amber color. Offwhite head that hangs around for a while and leaves just a touch of lace. Smells metallic. Tastes caramelly, malty sweet. A bit metallic. Mouthfeel is thin. Crisp carbonation. Not a great beer, but drinkable. Beershine (2749), Traipsing Around, Cambodia
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 28, 2008 Deep amber hue, pours with decent lacing. Smells like stale ice cubes, alcohol, and cherries. Tastes bland, bready, and thin all over. Innocuous but couldn’t finish it.
