Light caramel and dark grain in the aroma. Taste is pretty well attenuated with toasted malts, don’t get any candi sugar, and the yeast profile is way too clean. travita (1941), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Amber orange color with a average head. Sweet and malty but weak in taste and alcohol for an style. I love belgian styles and this leaves me very much wanting something else.

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Perhaps one of the worst dubbels I’ve had. It has a dirty aftertaste and not a lot of depth. Nothing interesting here. Ron (1035), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Pours a beautiful clear amber color with offwhite fizzy head. Aroma is sweet malt corn scent with slight yeasty spice. Flavor is sweet caramel bit of fruitiness and light and watery. Overall not bad from coors. DJC (238), USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Nice amber body, and a pretty decent head, but my attraction to this beer ends there. OK, the carbonation isn’t bad, but that’s about it. The aroma and flavor is too laden with metallic notes for me, and that makes the whole experience rather awful. Maybe I just don’t understand what an Abbey Dubbel is supposed to taste like. So if this is actually a good example of the style, then I must say I don’t like them. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 17, 2007 12 oz bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville, FL. Aroma is spiced and a bit of malt. Pours a nice dark copper orange color with a thin head. Taste is slightly sweet, but I don’t pick up anything from this other than the usual run of the mill winter ales made by big breweries. Bleah.
