Pours a nice dark copper orange color with a thin head. Taste is slightly sweet, but I don’t pick up anything from this other than the usual run of the mill winter ales made by big breweries. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Poured from bottle. Nice aroma of roasty malt and spice. Color is the same color as the bottle. Malt prevails in the flavor, oak and pepper notes as well. Not enough of the Belgian sugar they advertise. Weak, watery feel. Finish was OK. Not bad, but needs some work. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Dark clear amber pour, big white head. Aroma is sugary bready. Taste is buttery, nasty candi sugars, a gross caramel cloying sweetness. Thin watery body, low carbonation and this is just the weakest attempt at a belgian style ever. Gross and it’s giving me a headache. Haslinger (666), Syracuse, New York, USA

Some spice on the aromas. Sweet and somewhat fruity. Flavor was similar with touches of sweetness, but finished a bit dry. I felt like I was drinking cardboard, it looked like a full beer but was severely lacking flavor.
