It has a clear light amber color and not much aroma to speak of. It can’t be called an abbey dubbel. The mouth feel is thin and shot of the unoffensive caramel flavor there’s not much to it. Tastes a like Killian’s doesn’t it Coors? Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 1, 2007 Bottle. Clear copper with a large, lasting head. Nose is faint, maybe some dry grain and biscuit. Taste is a strange combo of dry grain and a sour apple flavor that makes me look twice to make sure I didn’t pour an English bitter. Some faint traces of candi sugar and maybe some spice in the aftertaste. Palate is almost medium-bodied, fairly smooth and dryish. Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

It smells basically OK, Brown sugar and some spices. And the fist sip isn’t bad, I guess. But it seems a bit cloying, and rather heavy, and that gets worse as you one continues to drink it. Went from kinda liking it to indifference to pouring it out. stubby (326), Santee, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 1, 2007 Rather enjoyed this. There might be a bit of Belgian yeast-fermented ale mixed in for a touch of complexity. Sweet bready, mostly. Poured with a nice amber color, little froth that stuck around for a bit. Taste was okay, but expected a little more compared to the others (Alaskan Winter Ale for instance). Nice with a steak or salmon. TheRimmer (483), Florida, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 29, 2007 Smells like a cardboard box that’s been soaked in the toilet. Amber color, decent head, nice lacing. Absolutely nothing akin to an abbey dubbel in the flavor. Taste was subdued malt that quickly went sour. zach8270 (2136), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Nov 28, 2007 (bottle - 12 oz) Clear copper color with a thin tan foam. Aroma is a mix of candy, spices, yeast, malts, and boiled vegetables. Flavor is very watery and weak with a slightly sour hint of malts, nuts, bad caramel, and a bitter and metallic finish. Not good.
