A spicey sweet aroma with caramel. The taste was a bit too sweet for me but good body and a bit of richness to redeem. Finish a little malty sweet, but a little spice to balance.

Well I’d say its got a little spice, but otherwise its a bad abomination of a belgian. better than their other offerings.

330ml bottle brought back from the United States at Christmas time. Mediocre, I’d say.

Overall Impression: A pretty dull, average winter brew. An abbey dubbel? That seems like a stretch...

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There is a best before date on the bottle. Appearance: It has a creamy tan head which quickly faded down to a small ring of slick lacing that hangs on till the last sip. The body has a slightly hazy appearance with a dark amber color. Smell: The aroma is rather light and simple. Only a light hint of sweet malt with maybe a touch of caramel is detected in the nose. Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor is ok but very simple for the style. It has a dark sweetness with notes of caramel candy, brown sugar and some very, very light spice like cinnamon. There were no noticeable hops at all and it finished sweet but watery. The overall texture was light for the style and thinner in the finish with a medium body and light carbonation. Notes: This was a very simple example of a Belgian Dubbel.

Has a distinct syrupy taste to it. Some hints of spices. It’s not really that strong, goes down very smooth. It’s not too bad, but there are certainly better winter beers out there.

~Pours a brownish amber color with small creamy head. ~Has a spicy malt scent, semi sweet. ~Syrupy malt taste with spices. ~Medium feel, bitter sweet finish. ~Too sugary, but drinkable. Decent winter brew.
