bigguns22 (88), Maryland, USA Nov 2, 2009 Great color dark amber no head.A boring beer that lacks pumpkin for a pumpkin beer needs spice.not much to say.Poor to fair at best. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Nov 1, 2009 12oz bottle. Clear reddish amber pour with a thin off-white head. Banana yeasty aroma with some caramel and spice. Yeasty flavor with a bit of malt and spice. I am admittedly a pumpkin beer fan and this is the worst example I’ve had. They took their normal crappy beer and threw some spices in. Blech. brenn79 (140), Idaho, USA Oct 30, 2009 12 oz. bottle- Pours a red amber with little head, aroma is nothing impressive, almost smells like old beer. Flavor is of obviously pumpkin, malt and some spice. Overall a very mediocre beer. poisoneddwarf (153), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA Oct 30, 2009 12 oz bottle. Very faint aroma of clove, cinnamon. Mostly, it smells like mass-produced swill. Pours deep amber, nice head, nice lacing. Flavors are as described on the label. Kind of watery. This year’s version is better than the last few. This one at least has some pumpkin pie attributes. For the past few years, those flavors were MIA. kosko20 (302), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA Oct 30, 2009 Beautiful pour of clear gold with a frothy white head and solid lacing. Aroma is very good for a pumpkin ale: pumpkin, caramel, nutmeg, roasted malts. Flavor is bitter...and a little astringent. Palate is thin. Overall its kinda boring after a few sips. BobbyAnalog (19), California, USA Oct 22, 2009 Branded by its predessors taste, Harvest Moon borrows distinct notes from its Belgian white lineage. The color is an unimpressive runny orange. The taste, meanwhile, is rather nondescript, with its professed spices being tamed by an innocuous, watered down mouthfeel. This particular seasonal brew feels like they actually removed flavor rather than adding it. Disappointing. MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Oct 19, 2009 bottle. Pours a clear orange with a tan head. Nose is lager and nutmeg. Taste is of pumpkin and spice. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. so so. nittanytide (33), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2009 Poured amber in color, with a small, but well-retained head. I expected more aromas. Subtle notes of pumpkin and sweet malts are the only apparent tastes. Finishes clean. Pretty plain, but not bad.
