Some vague spice and pumpkin sweetness in the aroma. Light pumpkin pie flavor. Pretty thin, but drinkable. I might like regular blue moon better, but this is certainly passable, though pretty meh. Nose is caramel malt with a small amount of pumpkin spice. Flavor is not as sweet as expected. There is some pumpkin and some nutmeg. They put the caramel malt and the floral hop in the background. Add a bit of applesauce with light cinnamon, as well. Finished pretty strong with spice making a strong showing. Feel was somewhat powerdy and oily. Strong finish helped this one’s score. kpresley77 (134), Jackson, Georgia, USA

Good lacing on the glass as I drink it. Aroma is faint almost overpowered by the alcohol smell but I can pick up a faint pumpkin spice scent. The flavor is different than the other pumpkin ales I have tried as it does not rely on the spices that most do. This gives it a more natural pumpkin taste, which may or not be a good thing depending on what you are looking for. It is nothing special on the palate however it is an easy beer to drink. Overall it was certainly not bad at all however next time I would be more tempted to buy another pumpkin ale in place of this one. yesyouam (593), Fairport, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Blue Moon Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale is a dense, sparkling amber ale with a dense off-white head that thins a little and gets splotchy. It leaves great lacing on the glass. The aroma is faint, but I can pick some spices up. It’s a slightly sweet smell of crystal malt. It smells fresh. It has a medium-by-light body that lightens up at the end of the taste. It’s quite smooth and has a pretty clean finish. The flavor is pretty mellow. It’s a nice amber with a little bit of spice in it: Mostly nutmeg and a touch of allspice. It’s well balanced. This is easy drinking. I don’t taste any pumpkin here, but it’s a nice Amber Ale. iride15 (171), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 24, 2008 A below average pumpkin ale that’s missing the pumpkin spice. there’s a tiny hint of pumpkin flavor, but dissipates quickly. And I don’t know how you make a pumpkin ale that’s missing the strong flavor of sweet spice all the others have. Mediocre attempt at best.
