Tasted of a light lager with a little bit of pumpkin flavor and light toffee tones. Could have exagerated the flavors a little more since they were a little dull. Probably wouldn’t buy again. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA

Aroma is very strong on spice, mainly nutmeg, with some pumpkin notes in there as well. Flavor is heavy on cinnamon and definitely has the notes of a pumpkin pie. Not bad, but this is definitely a ’one-and-done’ type of beer. Palate is easy to drink and not bad in the least. Decent seasonal! Rakluba (33), Cary, North Carolina, USA

Red amber body with a tannish head. Tastes of carmel and nutmeg with some nutty tones. This beer was actually really nice CheersMate1 (800), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 7, 2008 A nice foamy head. This beer pours well. I did not expect that, but I do love surprises. A nice pumpkin/caramel orange color. The beer looks decent, but doesn’t have that translucent look that I feel an ale should have. The name also says that this is an ale, so I am not just being picky. A subtle hint of nutmeg, and cinnamon. I also pick up on an off smell of the yeast. The bready yeast smell comes out a little too much, and gets in the way of the spice aroma. I smell a hint of clove as well, but again this does not offer much for the overall aroma. Wow, there is a hefty taste of pumpkin. This is like eating pumpkin pie almost. I give the Blue Moon folks credit, but the beer is simply too thin. With thin beer the flavors don’t sit on your tongue or hit your tastebuds properly, it just sinks into your gut. This is an ale for Godsakes! Seems like a lager to me. The cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg are completely lost in the taste. Big time let down. The beer is just too thin to be considered that great. The only thing this beer has going for it is that slight pumpkin flavor and the subtle aroma, other than that stay clear. Gmku (254), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

This isn’t really a pumpkin ale. It’s a Coors ale. jmorris37 (9), Tennessee, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2008 great seasonal beer. pretty thick like the belgian white ale. pours a thick, creamy head. has hints of pumpkin and nuts with a bit of a spice in the aftertaste. its a great beer to sit on your porch and drink on a cool fall night. bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA

Not a bad texture but a bitter aftertaste leaves me with a bad impression. Goodgrief (1153), Middletown, Delaware, USA

I bought this before I realized I hated pumpkin ales, so it’s been sitting in my fridge for months, waiting for someone willing to drink it, minus the small portion I felt I needed to review it. My dad was the willing guinea pig yesterday. It poured and looked all right...like an orangish version of Blue Moon. It smelled like Blue Moon, wheaty, with an overload of nutmeg and rotten pumpkin. The taste was the same...awful. I thought I hated regular pumpkin ales, but a wheaty, watery pumpkin ale overloaded with nutmeg takes "yuck" to a new level.
