I bought this before I realized I hated pumpkin ales, so it’s been sitting in my fridge for months, waiting for someone willing to drink it, minus the small portion I felt I needed to review it. My dad was the willing guinea pig yesterday. It poured and looked all right...like an orangish version of Blue Moon. It smelled like Blue Moon, wheaty, with an overload of nutmeg and rotten pumpkin. The taste was the same...awful. I thought I hated regular pumpkin ales, but a wheaty, watery pumpkin ale overloaded with nutmeg takes "yuck" to a new level. bluemooner (238), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

It has a very strange flavor, somewhat bitter and a little pumpkin but not at all what I expected. beerbill (1982), Laurel, New York, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 23, 2008 From my old notes. Consumed October, 2003. 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark orange with an off-white head. Weird vegetable aroma that has some pumpkin in it. The flavor is also this weird vegetable taste. I like pumpkin beers, but this one is just not very good. This is the last bottle in the fridge of a six pack I bought around October 2007. It has a nice floral scent that reminds you of pumpkin without really smelling like pumpking. There’s also a hint of nutmeg. It smells refereshing. The body is very thin and leaves a bitter after-taste that isn’t unpleasant but also isn’t exactly tasty. The flavor consists of not-quite-ripe pumpkin and All Spice. TheBeerBaron (219), Florida, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Copper hue with a small white head small amount of carbonation seen in the glass. First aroma is spice like dull cinnamon, then I guess you can call the aroma pumpkin however I am leaning more toward bananna, either way I’ve had a few of the seasonal pumkin ales and most have a more defined namesake aroma. Flavor is immediately bitter and biting. too much hops take precedence over any malt flavor or specialty ingredients for that matter. Maybe some sweet and sour pumpkin taste comes through in the finish. Granted this beer was sitting in my fridge for 60 days but would it have deteriorated so quickly?
