Fairly straightforward caramel flavour with a nutmeg/clove note in the finish. A simple but pleasing brew. jlthiering (47), Viginia Beach, Maryland, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Poured a clear auburn color with an aroma of cloves and citris. Bitter though which defeats the purpose of putting in spices and other stuff. I don’t know why they continue to do this with ales. Their summer wheat ale was bad too. If you’re going to make a flavorfull seasonal, you don’t start with an ale. If you do, you end up with this weird tasting beverage that barely qualifies as edible. obguthr (1078), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Barely detectable aroma of mushrooms. Amber color, medium off white head, very clear. Tasteless and watery. An impression of smoke, but that may be my imagination. The only good thing I can say is that since I don’t like Pumpkin ales, this had no pumpkin flavor. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Pours amber with a white head. There’s really not much flavor, a bit of malt, no hops at all, and the spices are minimal at best. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 21, 2007 (Bottle) Pours an amber color with a medium white head. Aroma of a BMC. If it hadn’t said pumpkin on the label, I never would have even guessed it was in this beer. Some malty flavors, but lacking any real spice. Disappointing. wmtribesman (21), Virginia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Smells like pumpkins. Looks like pumpkins. Tastes vaguely of pumpkins and spice. Has the consistancy of a typical dark lager, which completely throws off the style.
