The flavor is caramelly malts, somewhat watery, with some spices, there was no sign of pumpkin as an ingredient. It was light and refreshing for a spiced beer. Very poor example of a pumpkin beer. nearbeer (1878), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Leaves a sheet of lace all down the glass. Aroma is caramel, slight nutmeg, cinnamon, gunmetal. Flavor is slight spices, sourish caramel, earthy herbs, slight metallic taste, and some cooked fruit/vegetable taste that might even be pumpkin. Even some Belgian-like bubblegum aftertaste. Palate is smoothish, with a nice little tingle on the end, and light-medium bodied. Pretty nice factory ale; I like the understated pumpkin spices. linc33 (177), Albany, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 17, 2007 From a 12oz bottle. Doesn’t particularly taste like anything - definitely beer, but beyond that, it’s pretty much just beer. I think the Saranac Pumpkin Ale is better, and that’s saying something. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Had this beer on 3/4/1998. Color is a gold/orange with good carbonation and head. There is a light pumpkin scent in the aroma. The taste has a light almost medium body and a light pumpkin taste. Starts off crisp going down smooth with an almost creamy feel. The finish is a light malt taste with an even flavoring of pumpkin and hops. This is a refreshing beer and is surprisingly good. HopHeadinAZ (120), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2007 12oz bottle: Poured a deep amber with hints of copper. The head was almost 3 fingers at the pour but quickly disappeared. The aroma is nutmeg, and pumpkin pie filling. Cinnamon. clove and nutmeg dominate but I also notice a decent malt presence. Although I’m not a pumpkin fan this would be a good introduction for someone into flavored beers, not great but not bad either. markas101 (595), Fargo, North Dakota, USA

Lighter bodied than expected, interesting to taste, but wouldn’t be going back for more. Acknud (792), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Nice amber beer with a thick head. Taste is spicy with minimal pumpkin notes. Aroma is of pumpkin pie spices. A good beer to drink during our annual fall festival! DubC5000 (202), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Tried at room temperature. It smells like pumpkin pie, and I love pumpkin pie, so the beer made a good first impression on me to start out. The flavor isn’t bad at all, tasting heavily like pumpkin with spicy aftertastes of cloves and cinnamon. There is next to no hop taste (I guess this is passable since the clove overtakes the hops antibacterial action here) but there is enough of a malt presence to remind us that yes, we are drinking a beer.
