| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 4, 2007 I don’t like pumpkin ales so I’m not really sure why I bought this. I guess I just wanted to see what blue moon was up to (and it was on sale). Start of with a mild inoffensive beer and then add some pumpkin pie. It is what it is. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 28, 2007 this beer is good because it is weak....yes you read right!! I am not the biggest fan of pumpkin beers (i drink them ofcourse only around thanksgivin) but some have tryed to hard..this beer is just right in spices and i hardly noticed the pumpkin, but seeing as i somewhat enjoyed it and omar gave it to me...it goes down smooth and doesn’t linger...if you are a pumpkin beer fan, get something else but if you are just starting out on this weird fruit pilgrimage try something more $$$..... | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 21, 2007 Orange in color, this beer has a rather malty quality without much in the way of pumpkin spice. Rather bland for most pumpkin beers. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Pours a clear orange-copper color, with about an inch of cream-colored foam. The head recedes in a minute or so. No lacing. Light spice and (to my surprise) some ‘canned pumpkin’ in the aroma.
First sip: mild sweetish pumpkin and some pie spice in the initial sip, followed quickly by a spicy hop bite that seemed to ride on the carbonation. Subsequent sips are smoother, with the pumpkin and pie spice being quite noticeable. Sweet pumpkin and dry spice in the aftertaste. Medium bodied with ample carbonation.
I don’t ever recall having a pumpkin beer before, and so I don’t know how this one compares to others. I find myself wondering if the pumpkin flavor that I get is real or artificial, and I find myself wondering if the spice is only from the added spice, or if I am picking up something in the hop character. Not being overly trusting of macro beer manufacturers, I am dubious of the authenticity of the orange color and the pumpkin flavor. fiulijn (7470), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
