The palate is lacking but the aroma and flavor are nice malt. Light on the honey which is good because I can’t stand too much honey. Overall not too bad - Best Coors beer I have tried. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 1, 2008 THOUGHTS: Nice. A nice tweak to the normal Blue Moon. Probably the best seasonal tweak to a Blue Moon. Full Moon is better, but that is a completely different beer, not a tweak. So this was a great Blue Moon, a nice summer beer, but just an OK beer overall. It had just the right amount of honey. Not too sweet. Just enough to make it different from the original.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, light to medium yellow with a small, white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was nice but weak. There was orange, wheat and slight honey. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and moderately acidic; while the finis was moderately sweet, lightly acidic and slightly sour with an average duration. There was wheat, slight honey and a little orange. The light to medium body was a little dry with very fizzy carbonation and a moderate to heavy astringent finish. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Pours light cloudy medium dark yellow with a white frothy head and sediment at the bottom. Has the aroma of sour hops, clove and lemon. Tastes of honey, hint of orange and lemon with a little zesty clove and wheat. Watery feel. A little unpleasant aftertaste that you get from so many of those mass produced tasteless beers. Not the worst beer I’ve had from blue moon. OK overall. vikingguy (149), Chaska, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Easy drinking smooth summer ale. I like the honey flavor...tastes natural. Just a subtle hint of orange. The honey/orange/wheat taste is really good and I’ll buy this again. I’ve enjoyed all of Blue Moon’s offerings and this is one of the best. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Bottle. Poured a hazy golden color. Aroma was floral, and had quite a bit of banana in it. A bit of citrus added to the flavor. It wasn’t bad. Trev (880), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Pours a pale yellow with a foamy white head.
wheat-spice and yeast Honey and light orange peel, some in the aroma.
Flavour is sweet wheat. I can get some honey / candy sugar, some banana tones. Slight tartness to the finish keeps it fairly refreshing.
