BuckNaked (1195), Tempe, Arizona, USA Apr 21, 2008 12oz bottle: Pours to a mostly clear, very slightly hazy marigold-yellow body with small bubbles rising quickly to meeting the small, white, quickly fading head. The aroma is pale malts, mashed corn, wheat, and a hint of orange rind. Taste is roasted corn and wheat up front, with some honey and dry orange rind coming through towards the middle. The taste is somewhat marred for me by the corn/adjunct flavor and that combined with the honey for adds an almost plastic-flavored sweetness that I personally don’t like. Light bodied, Medium-lively carbonation. An encouraging step in the right direction for Coors, but it’d be nice if they actually attempted to brew a real craft beer instead of a mass-market hybrid.
douglas88 (726), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Aug 24, 2008 Bottles bought at a local grocery store. The odd thing was three of the six beers were only half filled, we realized that some asshole must have drank some of each bottle and put back on the cap. Needless to say we were too lazy to return them, but I had better beer anyway. Pours a clear yellow with a medium white head. The aroma and taste was full of sweet honey, wheat, and a light spicy addition. Not too bad, except for the three which were compromised. rkuhnel (1096), Eureka, California, USA Aug 20, 2008 From a bottle. Poured cloudy yellow. Nose of wheat and citrus. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor of yeast and orange. Served very cold this is somewhat refreshing. DarkElf (2650), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 18, 2008 03-Jul-08 (12-oz bottle, Best by 02-Nov-08: Purchased 27-Jun-08 for $1.79 at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) Yet another entry in the Blue Moon family of mediocrity. The combination of honey and orange peel never really does anything for me except to make me scrunch my face in disapproval. The sweet, floral, and herbal honey flavor hits immediately in the entry and gradually fades off the palate. In conjunction, the orange peel builds toward the finish, leaving an unpleasant, bitter taste in my mouth. The yeasty and wheaty base is extremely doughy and sits heavy on the palate, which counters the goal of a refreshing summer ale. The medium body has more weight than the average American wheat beer, but this, too, hurts the drinkability of this summer beer. Carbonation is high, resulting in a few loud eructations. Sweetbreads and yeast in the nose. Hazy, golden-yellow in color with plenty of carbonation streams rising through the beer. The creamy, white head pours to half an inch, but shows solid retention by holding a thin layer for several minutes. Large, dense patches of lace blanket the glass. Not an enjoyable beer, but I can’t say that I find any of the Blue Moon beers enjoyable, but it’s especially true of their wheat beers. VTHopHead (670), Barre, Vermont, USA Aug 16, 2008 Bottle - Poured a slightly cloudy light yellow in color with a foamy white head. Aroma is slightly sweet, but not strong. Flavor was also slightly sweet, but not with the flavor of honey. Slightly citrus in the finish. Not a lot here... easy drinking, but not really worth repeating. WakeandBake (36), Greenville, Michigan, USA Aug 16, 2008 Not as much flavor as I had expected, I love Blue Moon but will not buy this again, I found nothing aginst this beer, just very little flavor for the $
