Commercial Description:
Pale Moon is a drinkable pale ale that has a distinctive hop aroma without the lingering aftertaste. This Belgian-Style Pale Ale is brewed with European malts, Cascade hops, and a touch of hibiscus and orange peel. These ingredients create a rich copper colored ale with a flavor complexity that one would expect from the Blue Moon Brewing Company.

A light aroma and taste of floral hop, but that’s about it. There just isn’t too much going on in this brew. Leave it on the shelf.

Poured into a pint glass. Light rust colored with a fizzy thin head. Head falls quick, no lacing. Smells slightly of a spicy yeast, green apple, and wet dog. Taste isnt terrible at first, a little spicy, a little sour, but then is tastes like a BMC pils. Body is thin and tastes like corn mash. Overall, not as bad as I imagined, but pretty terrible. On the plus side, I could drink this all day long.

Blue Moon aroma, but with a hop presence. Dark copper color with fluffy head. Hops are more plentiful than expected, though I must say I didn’t expect much. The rest of the flavor resembles a sweet Blue Moon. Palate is lively, but abrupt. Mundane.

12oz bottle. Filtered amber-orange color. Overly sweet one dimensional aroma, not pleasant. Medium bodied with a decidely sweet yeasty fruitiness. A Belgian Pale Ale? No way, lacks any crispness. More like a Singel if anything. Shows some spice as it warms. Surprisingly not bad for a Blue Moon product, but embarrassingly bad for something claiming to be Belgian.

Tallahassee, Fl. ABC Liquors - 12 oz bottle - part of a Brewmaster’s variety 12 pack. Pours a medium copper with a thin white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma has some brief spicy accents with a dash of nuttiness. Flavor has some nutty accents, a bit of Christmas type spices and a brief wisp of citrus. Mouthfeel is even and smooth. Decent, just not overflowing with flavor.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Copper color - clear. Pretty good - fairly hoppy. Not really a Belgian style though - more an American pale ale with flavors added.

Bottle. Pours a surprisingly dense amber with a nice healthy head of white. Aroma is a touch of candied roasted malt with just a touch of nutty strawberry. Flavor is a melted haystack pureed with copper pennies and roasted nuts. Very thin flavor character that simply dies on the palate. No pizazz, no real incentive to drink more than one.
