Commercial Description:
A winter seasonal ale that blends three varieties of slow roasted malts and multiple hops to deliver exquisite aroma and taste. It's that time of year again - the weather cools and our seasonal ale is here. Blue Moon Winter Ale captures all the season's subtle colors and complexity. Start your own traditions and toast the season with this winter-spiced amber ale.

Editor's Note: after a recipe change in 2007, now known as Full Moon.

I had this last year, nothing highly to speak of it. Lacking the taste and body of a good holiday beer.

Not very pleased. The spicey flavors seemed to overpower the good thing that blue moon had going for it.

Bottle. Amber/copper color, with a lingering white head. Little to no smell whatsoever. Taste is sweet with a tinge of nut. Weak winter beer.

aroma is of a thick, dark ale with a roastyness to it - mouthful is thick and slightly slimy - tastes of roasted hops.

Had this beer on 11/26/2006. Aroma is faint with a roasted scent. Color is a deep gold with very good carbonation and thick head. Taste is sweet, nutty and clean. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish starts with a sweet slightly roasted flavor that builds to a mild nut taste and a faint bitterness. It has a nice nutty holiday feel to it that males it perfect for Winter.

A heavy bodied winter wheat ale that disappoints. The caramel and other roasted malts are overwhelming almost like candy. The head is a creamy white.

a nice hoppy beer, a little smoother and less intense than the original, but still pretty average and nothing to write home about, cheap and nice to kick back with every winter

This pours a clear amber body with a creamy eggshell head. The aroma is caramel and vanilla. So’s thew flavor, along with some very light brown spices. Uninspired and unexciting.
