Pours orange-amber into the glass, with an initial 2-finger head that tames to a nice cap, leaving chunky lace. A sweet malty nose ensues, with some herbal bready notes. Decent herb, bread and citrus flavors, with a nice earthen hop back. The finish, slightly metallic, doesn’t prolong, but lasts well for the style. This is well-integrated, and although not "over-the-top", it is satisfying. Would make for a good sessionista. An oily, smooth mouthfeel with medium carbo levels goes down well. All-in-all, this is quite good for such a broad category.

Bottle. Pours gold. Small white head. Nose is sweet malts, grassy/straw notes, light bread and honey. taste is hoppy but controlled. Some spicy notes and some earthiness. There’s some fruit notes with soft caramel, and bready malts as well. The aftertaste exudes a bit more fruit (melon and pear). Body is medium with strong carbonation. The end comes when the malts, bread, soft honey and spicy hops regress to stronger fruit notes and grass.

Bottle: Bronze pour with a moderate head. The aroma is almost fruity, but not quite. It drinks with a nice snappy tanginess, lightly malty underneath, with a sharp hop finish. This is actually a very good medium-amber lager, with a good full flavor and character. (#3437, 4/27/2008)

Lemon zest aroma. Clear golden color, little head. Tastes of slight phenolic lemon grass. Solid offering from a new brewer. There is potential for improvement. Disclaimer: No, I couldn’t do any better, but my experience is only in cider.

This is the closest thing (in my mind) to a good Munich Helles I’ve had since...I was in Munich.
