| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Bottle: Bronze pour with a moderate head. The aroma is almost fruity, but not quite. It drinks with a nice snappy tanginess, lightly malty underneath, with a sharp hop finish. This is actually a very good medium-amber lager, with a good full flavor and character. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 10, 2008 On tap at brewpub. Medium to light gold, decent head, clear. Aroma is of hay and slightly floral hops, pleasant. Flavor was essentially a match, with a nice balancing pale malt sweetness. Nicely done, very clean taste. These guys know what they are doing here. mctous (119), Herndon, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2008 Bottle from The Virginia Touch. Grassy aroma, clear light amber pour with a slight head. Clean pale malt leads the flavor profile, with light noble hops, some grass, and just a whiff of lager-yeast sulfur. Quite substantial body from the malt, and a clean finish with moderate residual sweetness. This is very much a lager, not a pilsner. beerandIT (189), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Just what a premium lager should be. Nice and fresh. Clean on the palate. Light bodied. Very drinkable. Exactly what you want in a lager. Slight malt in there as well. Laces the glass nicely for a lager as well. Get it! This brewery opened up October 24, 2007 so this is just making its way into store and alehouses. Golden in color. Light biscuit and clean noble hops in aroma. Flavor is balanced floral hop with biscuit and slight caramel notes. Smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a nicely balanced lager with notable sweetness giving it more body than most pale lagers. I’m glad to have one of the better micro-lagers coming out of Virginia. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Draft sample at brewery. Pale gold with white head. Aromas of salty corn chips, light malt, metal, and some grassy hops. Clean, bright flavors of all of the above, very mellow, with a slightly grassy finish. Very nicely done, and seems to hold up consistently in the bottle.
