Different I like this one. Nice malts on in the aroma with a very subtle bit of fruit in there. You can also smell the sweetness. I like the malt in this one pronounced up front and stays with you in the aftertaste. Beautiful dark deep ruby red color. Medium bodied with a bit of head which does not stick around long at all. Nice one would have again.

Mahogany appearance with a small, beige head and decent lacing. Late developing yeasty, fruity, malty aroma. Taste was spicy, with dark fruit and grainy, roasted malts. Medium bodied, well carbonated, generously hopped mouthfeel leading to a long lasting finish.

Dark brown with foamy tan head. Aroma was of raisin and roasted malt. Flavor was dry with a pleasantly sweet finish.

Sampled in Lexington. Goes down really nicely. Has a bit of a caramel aftertaste / bite. A nice lacey head that lingers. Overall a very well made brew.

Bottle, #465. Brown pour with medium head. Malty and sweet aroma. Rich flavor of malts and dark fruit. Complex flavor. Curious about what the 8° means.

dark brown with moderate brown head. estery nose with some dark candi notes. flavor starts off nice with some dark caramel tastes and some dark fruity esters. the problem comes in with the hops, the bitterness and flavor are too overwhelming, though clean, any lingering depth is erased and it threatens style guidelines. not an awful example

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: garnet shade, clear with light beaded small top.
Nose: Good nose. Rich blend of candy, caramel, brown malt. Smooth alcohol charter with yeasty side.7+
Flavor/Palate : Full bodied , slightly oily. Caramel like with sticky texture. Toffee but not overly sweet. Vintage alcohol feel with some hops. Good semi sipper.

tasting glass at grape and gourmet’s 3rd anniversary. glad to see some VA brews being enjoyed. pours a dark, muddy brown with hints of red and copper with a typically belgian big, tan head. aroma is pleasant with scents of dark fruits, earth, some sweet molasses, and yeast. flavor was good as well with bready malts, some caramel sweetness, raisins, and a slight spice note. mouthfeel is smooth, highly carbonated, and leaves a slightly sticky aftertaste. not a bad effort from a small brewery.
