Bottle shared by beastiefan2k. Black/brown beer, lightly solventy and loaded with off-flavours. There is a bit of brown sugar, a touch of bubble gum on the back. An astringent grainy harshness. There is all of the bad stuff about some Belgian yeast and very little of the good.

Bottle. A pretty decent attempt at an Abbey Dubbel. Pours a dark brown color with a huge off-white head. The aroma is a slight rostiness, with notes of sweet, roasted malts. Touch of chocolate.

Bottle. Deep and dark chocolate red with a firm light brown head. Nice full roasty aroma. This delivers with a fully robust body, roasty, a tad ashy, darkly fruity, and sugared ... a delicious blend to warm the soul on a chilly night. This would go great with a big chunk of roast beef. 12oz, enjoy by 12 2008. Poured a dark brown tending towards black with an off-white head. Mostly bread, dark fruit sweet malt and the slightest bit of cherry in the nose. Some good roasted malt, cherry and caramel in the body. There was something about this that left me fairly disappointed. I can’t quite but my finger on it but their was a certain astringency with the hops that created an overly metallic flavor, especially when chilled a bit. I’ll try it again later.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with dkachur (thanks!). Bottle labeled enjoy by 12 2008. Poured a deeper brown color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of yeast, some dark fruits, caramel, roast, and chocolate. Tastes of caramel, dark fruits, some yeast, and chocolate.

Bottle, thanks to alexanderj. Brown opaque pour with a thin off-white head. Lots of sweet caramel in the aroma with candy sugar, spices, and a little bit of underlying breadiness. The flavor is not as impressive as the aroma. It starts out a little sweet (a little fruit) with some belgian style spicing, but it quickly turns to a sort of nasty biscuit flavor mixed with off-spicing. The flavor just didn’t quite come together.

dark brown with beige head, it has deep caramel aroma and yeasty flavor. sweet and fruity body resembles the style well, but a bit overhopped for a belgian.
