Bottle… O-Town/Vero Beach Throwdown Part 8… Dark prune-colored ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. The earthy, fruity aroma offers leather, horse blanket and dark fruits. Medium-bodied and a little astringent with lively carbonation. Malty with lots of dark fruits and tannic bitterness. Not very sweet. Lengthy, lightly bitter, and then bone-dry finish. Thanks go out to growler for sharing this bottle!

Pours copper a decent white head. Smells of sweet caramel, some candi sugar, some erathy hints, grassy. Tastes of dark fruit, some earthy hints, some peppery splashes on the finish.

Bottle shared by beastiefan2k. Black/brown beer, lightly solventy and loaded with off-flavours. There is a bit of brown sugar, a touch of bubble gum on the back. An astringent grainy harshness. There is all of the bad stuff about some Belgian yeast and very little of the good.

Sampled via 12-oz bottle during Dark Lord Day ’09 at table 1. Pours a clear dark cola brown brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted dark caramel malt, a light molasses and some yeast. Taste is medium bodied, some light carbonation with a thick caramel flavor with flavors of yeast, raisin, some brown sugar and chocolate. Finish is a tad watery, slightly lighter and gritty compared to most other dubbels I’ve tried.

Poured a hazy dark red amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was doughy with notes of white Elmers glue. Dark fruity notes and some cardboard. Roasted malt and a mild bitter finish. Semi-dry.

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: garnet shade, clear with light beaded small top.
Nose: Good nose. Rich blend of candy, caramel, brown malt. Smooth alcohol charter with yeasty side.7+
Flavor/Palate : Full bodied , slightly oily. Caramel like with sticky texture. Toffee but not overly sweet. Vintage alcohol feel with some hops. Good semi sipper.

Bottle. Deep and dark chocolate red with a firm light brown head. Nice full roasty aroma. This delivers with a fully robust body, roasty, a tad ashy, darkly fruity, and sugared ... a delicious blend to warm the soul on a chilly night. This would go great with a big chunk of roast beef.
