| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 30, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with dkachur. Pours a hazy dark gold with a moderate-large off-white head that lasted until the bottom of the glass and left a layer of foam with each sip. Pleasant aroma of malt, grapefruit and pine. There is a very, very weak malt backbone, but that is immediately overrun by grapefruit. The grapefruit flavor is short-lived, leaving behind bitter, virtually flavorless pith, which continues through the swallow. Dry and bitter at the finish. Medium bodied. radagast83 (1315), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

Flavor is pines, citrus, solid IPA flavor. IBUs are perfect. Finishes very clean and is quite a refreshing beverage. slimchill (781), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours with a rocky white head atop a bright ruby red body, orange at the thinner parts of the glass. Aroma is a mixed bag of malt and hops, pine and citrus with caramel and biscuit undertones. Flavor opens bready with a very reserved hop character in the middle of the palate, opening up to a strong bitterness that lingers. Very well-layered with fruity yeast notes interplaying against a great malt/hop balance. Mouthfeel is thick at first, drying and thinning as the bitterness takes over. A very fine IPA. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2009 Dark reddish bronze, good head formation. Definitely piney and grapefruity, resiny, with fresh bread elements too. Long lasting clingy head, the head flavor is extremely bitter in a harsh, green way that is just tasty as hell.
A solid IPA, drinkable yet intense enough to keep things interesting. Locals Tis the Season #1 from dkachur!. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
