It has that lovely harvest ale kick to it as some of the hops are grown on premises and used in the beer. This adds a really nice depth and level of flavor. Piney notes also contribute, with a subtle bitterness, and great malt backbone that lingers in the end. Well balanced, and extremely drinkable. topherbooth (5), USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 6, 2007 This is a fantastic IPA. The flavors just keep coming. So tangy and bitter and everything that an IPA should be. mctous (119), Herndon, Virginia, USA

Piney hop notes dominate, followed by citrus, a slight floral nose, and light pure pale malt. It left plenty of hop lace and poured a clear light amber. The freshness, depth, and complexity of hop flavors stunned my palate, and the clean, un-husky pale malt did not distract. The hops also dominated the palate. I found this worth the trip, and would actually drive to central Virginia to have this again. dben900 (8), richmond, Virginia, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 22, 2008 Loved it when I had it in the bottle, so I replaced Two-Hearted withFull Nelson. Not the same beer. I thought they sent me a mis-labeled keg. Brewery has GREAT potential, but they are not consistent. sinkr (241), Lusby, Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 17, 2009 Bottle->shaker: pours a large head that exhibits spare lacing atop a clear amber body. Aroma of molasses, grain, and perfume. The body is full, texture alcoholic, with soft carbonation, and finishing astringently. The flavor’s duration is long, being moderately acidic and heavily bitter. Very nice beer--I appreciate it primarily because of it’s being full-bodied w/o being too heavy on the palate. The aroma is fully earthy and enticing. It doesn’t come close to hinting at the wonderful hoppy flavors within the beer, full of righteous fruity and tangy hop goodness. I gotta go find this place because this is a very, very good beer. Well done! (#3271, 1/5/2008) Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA

My hopes were up after seeing the skill displayed with their German beers, and this didn’t disappoint. Light orange, nice head, clear. Aroma was a big shot of hops, quite spicy with some earth and pine notes in the back. The flavor was biscuity malts, followed by a big shot of citric, pine, and spicy hops, all working well with each other to produce a lingering bitter finish. I sampled this alongside their guest tap of Nectar Pale Ale, and this just blew it away. Really good beer.
