Commercial Description:
Our flagship Strong Pale Ale represents everything good about new American brewing. A medium-bodied Pale malt backbone is overshadowed by an explosion of Pacific Northwest hop flavor from the varieties Columbus, Centennial, Amarillo and our own farm-grown Cascade hops. Be warned, Full Nelson has a pronounced bitterness and a serious floral/citrus aroma from the amount of hops used. 60 IBUs, 5.9% alc./vol.

This one was had early on, on draft at the brewery. Very literally, a lighter take on the Full Nelson ’standard,’ it comes across as more of a ’standard pale ale.’ I say that simply because the regular brew is quite a hoppy beer, especially for being classified as a pale ale (something I’d think a little more like Sierra Nevada when describing the style). Golden, almost looking exactly like it’s ’big brother.’ A nice white head tops things off. A nice citrus and slightly floral aroma, with the citrus rind coming out in the taste. More modest, and quite a wonderful session brew, as far as their offerings go. I’d like to see this appear again some day.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear amber body with a large frothy off-white head. Sweet floral and light citrus hop aroma. Dry floral hops flavor with a light caramel background. Apparently this was a screwup, but I rather like it. Its a more sessionable Full Nelson.

On tap at brewery. This is a scaled down version of the Full Nelson. The hops are a little less bitter and it lends to a creamier feel.
