Commercial Description:
A light German-style ale indigenous to Koln (Cologne). This ale is treated like a lager, undergoing extensive cold aging to produce a clean, crisp beer. All imported Muessdoerffer Pilsen and Munich malts and hops from the Hallertau region lend a balanced flavor to this ale. 18 IBUs.

7/20/08 - Light yellow and carbonic with white, lacing head. Nose is slight malt. Crisp, clean and refreshing with nice bitterness and mild hop flavor that lingers into the after. Great lacing. Could be the first kolsch I like.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear golden body with a medium creamy white head. Sweet but tame grassy aroma. Very light grassy hop flavor with hints of lemon grass. Very smooth finish with medium high carbonation.

On tap at the brewery, part of a sampler. Not my style, but a crisp, clean, clear, malty brew none the less.

Meidum to light gold, decent head, very clear. On tap at the brewpub. By appearance, this is almost indistinguishable from the lager. The aroma shows that we have a different beer here, as it is far more tilted to clean pale honey accented malts. Flavor is malty with a balancing hop bitterness, and a faint hint of floral hops. Nicely done.
