Commercial Description:
A pale beer born of a single malt. Balance derived from whole flower hops. Created from water drawn deep beneath the feet of the world's oldest mountains. Flavor driven by a faithful dedication to excess. All brought to life by yeast from a holy place.

Clear Golden/ Golden Amber with slight white head. Some spicey belgian characteristics with sweet caramel malt notes and floral hop aromas. Clean caramel malt flavors and candy sugar with moderate hop bitterness and some clove/bannana yeast character. Full somewhat grainey mouthfeel with some lingering spicey bitterness and alchohol warming in the finish. Another nice beer from Blue Mountain.

Thanks to Andrew for opening this at DLD! Poured clear apple juicy yellow with about zero head sticking around. The aroma picked up sweet, toasty lighter fruits and peppery spices that made more of an impression with warmth.. nicely balanced. The flavor had some sour and almost funky lighter fruits along with caramel and toffee sweetness.. more fruit with warmth and a lot more hot alcohol at the back.. overall tasty, though. Sweeter on the palate with low carbonation and lots of peppery alcohol.. decent feel and drinkability.

Bottle courtesy of dkachur. Thanks Dan! Corked and caged with nearly an impossible to pull out cork. Hazed amber pour. Small white head. Nose is spicy/peppery with light mint, dried fruit and mellow malt notes. We all mentioned lavender when discussing this as well. Taste is spicy with more dried fruit, dusty yeast sweet malts, and light candy. Body is effervescent with a medium overall feel. Ends with more spices, lavender, soap, dried fruit, and light candied notes. Nice!

Courtesy of dkachur at the 6th Richmond Gathering. Medium amber, hazy (too dark for style if you wish to get caught up in such nonsense). OK head. Aroma is slightly floral, lavender, cotton candy, and faint bubblegum. Tastes similar, but somehow I just didn’t care for it all that much. Could improve with age, however, so will set a bottle aside for later trials.

Very spicey aroma, pepper and herbal aroma along with some lavender. Orange body with a very thin white head. Very spicey taste, overpowering at times. Rather bland ending.

Bottle on 03/30/08. Crystal clear golden amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet belgian malts, hints of candi sugar and light spice. Sweet spice, light clove and hints of banana, light caramel and some belgian spice. Medium-full body with moderately low carbonation. This seems somewhat different from the tap version. Previous rating: 03/29/08 On tap at the brewpub. Very slightly hazy clear pale copper body. Sweet caramel, candi sugar and spice aroma. Sweet fruit flavor with spice, caramel and candi sugar. Slightly astringent. Medium-full body with moderately low carbonation and a somewhat syrupy finish. Probably would be a bit better with a bit less hops. 7/3/7/3/14

750 mL bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Just hit store shelves today! Pours a deep orange color with a thin but frothy and spirited head. Banana estery and yeasty aroma. Tart green apple, citrus, caramel, bubble gum, anise taste. Full bodied and smooth. Nice job... I can’t wait to try this with some age on it.
