(Sample Date: 1/17/2009 Source:Blue Mountain Brewery) At the brewery. Sweet malty grainy aroma with caramel. Clear dark amber/orange with small tan head. Light fruitiness with spicy yeast character and moderate hop bitterness. Lots of caramel and dark sugar notes. Finish is sweet but dries quickly with spicy peppery residual bitterness.

Draft at the brewpub, this was a sugary-sweet beer. It had a medium body, nicely laced. Just a tickle of a spicy edge. Enjoyable beer (#3488, 11/2008)

From a growler at VRBT. Medium amber. Some sweet malt aromas, sort of vague overall. Flavor matched, just sort of vaguely malty. Really did not go for this, a bit light for style to me. But I do not usually care for this style. RERATE: Better on tap at Cap Ale. Vaguely malty still applies, but there was an unusual, slight hop note mixed in with some almost hefe notes of banana and clove. Not bad this way, definitely not to traditional style, which is good for me.

Pours a very clear ruby-brown color with a medium head, good head retention and thick lacing. Banana, clove and yeast in the aroma. Taste is banana, yeast, spicy and spicy hop notes. Full bodied and very creamy. Very nice beer.
