On tap at Blue Point. Transparent copper amber with a barely off white head that lasted and left some nice lacing. Well balanced aroma that’s both citrus fruits and pine but also caramel and cookie dough. Caramel sweetness is the first flavor, followed by plenty of bitter, citrus hops (grapefruit and lemons) with a dry, malty presence at the end that cuts the bitterness. Finish is dry with some lingering bitterness. Best item on tap.

Dec 9, 2009 Draft. Deep amber body. Off-white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of pine, citrus with notes of sweet tropical fruit and caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, moderate carbonation. A sweet IPA of average distinction.

Nov 26, 2009 Growler shared by nimbleprop: Pours a transparent dark copper orange with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel and some fresh piny resiny hops. Starts with pretty good fullness and rich dark caramel sweetness with a crisp piny hop flavor before a drier grassy bittersweet finish.

Nov 26, 2009 Draft. Pours an amber body with a yellow off white head. Very hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, pine, sweet nectar and honey hints. Mostly a grapefruit pine y hop bomb, Nice.

Nov 9, 2009 Growler, thanks nimbleprop. Small off-white head atop lightly hazed copper body. Aroma is medium sweet, pine/grapefruit, mango, orange, light caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, mango/orange, some grapefruit, caramel. Medium body, low carbonation, light resin.

Sep 12, 2009 On tap at Blue Point’s tasting room. Pours amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through mid-glass. Mild but pleasant aroma of grapefruit along with a bit of pine and caramel. The flavor is pretty much standard fare for an east coast IPA with some caramel followed by a wash of grapefruit hops, although I’d have to say the flavors were a bit mild for an IPA. Medium bitterness at the finish. I’m not sure what makes this beer so special to crown it as their 10th anniversary beer, but as it is, its ok.

Sep 11, 2009 The aroma is citrus, ad to a lesser extent, piney hops. the appearance is a gold/red color, white head. The flavor is citrus hops, caramel malts. The finish is more piney than citrus. Decent IPA to be sure. I don’t know if it’s good enough to be an anniversary ale.

Sep 10, 2009 Cask @ Blind Tiger. Pours a deep amber color with a medium-sized and lingering off-white head. Aroma is pine hops, toffee, citrus, and other fruit (pineapple? melon?). Flavor is heavily citrus up front, with a bit of pine and wood on the finish. Body is not as strong as I hoped it would be, but it’s getting there. Solid effort - though is this good enough to be an anniversary beer?
