uhclem (188), Loveland, Colorado, USA Oct 27, 2008 Updated: Oct 28, 2008Nice amber pour with an off-white head and minimal lacing. Nose is of hops and malt with a subtle earthen undertone. Malt really comes out at first taste, then the hops assert themselves. Mouthfeel is a bit watery and the finish is an unusual combination of bitter hops and sweet malt. zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Oct 29, 2006 (cask @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Had this one a while back but found it among some tasting notes. Nice amber color with a thin and soapy tan head. Aroma is pretty hoppy with some wooden notes and a little bit of bourbon. Flavor begins with a nice and floral hoppy flavor that quickly disappears and finishes with a smooth and slightly sweet aftertaste. Pretty warming. The bourbon seemed to have taken the edge off the hops a little bit.
