miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Sep 26, 2008 Pour is cloudy orange with a decent off white head. Aroma is piney and kinda floral. Flavor is mild up front, but has some harsh bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. ratman197 (3139), Arvada, Colorado, USA Sep 24, 2008 Bottle poured a lightly hazy copper with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of earthiness, pine, carmel and light grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a lightly dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, pine and light citrus with a smooth lightly dry lingering moderatly bitter finish. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 20, 2008 Bottled October 2008. Pours a clear light amber with a fast receding off white head but decent lacing. Nose is lots of sweet caramel – most of the hops have left. Taste is pretty much the same with a mild pine bitterness in the finish. Medium, sticky mouth feel. I think this one is past its prime unfortunately. I’ll have to rerate it if I can score a fresher one to do it justice. I’ll give it higher score than it deserves now, as I think it’s a better beer than what i’m drinking. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Sep 19, 2008 Bottle at home from my GBBF haul ... Nice copper ... light resiny hops ... little sweet resiny fruit y and light hop ... little caramel ... soft mouthfeel ...definite american tones.... one of the bettter. BossHossBikes (147), Tennessee, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a translucent golden orange with an abundant white head. The aroma is of nice, crisp hops with various vegetables and a well-rounded caramel sweetness. The flavour has some nice bread notes with a good amount of hopsy bitterness. Vegetable notes are subtle, but noticeable from the initial tasting to the finish. Caramel flavour shows up during the initial taste, but becomes overwhelmed by the hops soon after. Fruits, such as pear and apple, are a nice note throughout the entire experience. The finish is nice and dry with a crisp, hopsy bite. This is tasteful and refreshing. bsm80 (144), Massapequa, New York, USA Sep 6, 2008 Just not a fan of hoppy IPA beers. Has a nice hue, fruity/hoppy aroma, just don’t enjoy that much hops. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bonus from NYbeer, pours golden copper with a three finger frothy egg shell colored head. The nose is IIPA hoppy with pieapple, floral hop and caramel sweet malt. The flavor is a bit more subdued and dry, but very well balanced. Earthy, dry and bitterness in the finish. dmac (1420), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Aug 30, 2008 12 oz bottle purchased at EZ Liquors. Pours a clear reddish amber with a large frothy off white head. Boozy aroma especially for a beer thats only 6.2%, vegtable notes, grains, caramel and old hops. Flavor thankfully is a step up from the aroma with notes of caramel, hops, and grainy bread. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a bitter finish. Solid IPA but don’t go knocking down any doors to get this one but also don’t pass it up if someone offers you one.
