Pours average amber with a nice white head and lacing. Aroma is strong candied grapefruit; very sweet. Flavor is a mix of grapefruit, hops, and Sweet-N-Low. Average mouthfeel. Good but not great. A very approachable IPA; I’d have this one at BBQs.

Sep 12, 2007 Bottle. This is about as typical as it gets for a decent IPA. Strong citrusy hop bite with a bit of maltiness to balance. This is a solid IPA, but needs something a little extra to stand out.

Sep 7, 2007 Bottle. Citrus / grapefruity / grassy hops and a little bit of malt in the aroma. The malt flavor in this one is a little bready followed by the grassy citrus hop aftertaste. Good but not quite there.

Sep 7, 2007 12 oz bottle. Another of my go-to local IPAs. Good overall balance, nice choice of hops, elegantly trippy label...oh, and it’s unfiltered! This is an East Coast stalwart IPA right up there with Brooklyn, Smuttynose, DFH, and Clipper City’s best. I’m surprised it doesn’t rate higher.

slightly hazy gold, whispy off white head, touch of lace, sweet citrus aroma, bitter sweet flavor with a nice interplay beween some light carmel sweetness and lots of lingering hop bitterness, a distracting tart edge

Aug 27, 2007 Bottle thanks to cheapdark! . Pours orange yellow, white head. Aroma is hops (tangerine), caramel, grass. Flavor is slightly hoppy, wheaty, tangerine. A bit weak.

Aug 21, 2007 Thanks to DaveHoward for the bottle. Golden color. Smell of hops, malt, caramel, grapefruit, pine and appriocots. Taste of grapefruit, hops, malt, pine, orange peal and flowers. Decent IPA.

Aug 18, 2007 In the bottle at Clint’s basement bar warming party. Pours an unexpected bright golden color with a thin white head. Decent citrusy pine-like aroma, but nothing to alert the media about. Flavor is smooth for an IPA with present, but not demanding bitterness. Nice beer.
