Blue Point Hoptical Illusion

6-pack bought at Brewer’s World, Dumont, NJ...pours hazy orange, barely any head...smell of peach, orange, hops...similar taste with a mild bitterness...thin lacing...quite enjoyable IPA.

This had a very strong hop smell and a lot of flavor, an overall great beer.

Bottle. Has an orange/amber color with a dense one finger head. Aromas are predominantly pine... a bit of a skunk cabbage smell that from time to time is detectable along with some grapefruit. Flavor is fairly heavy on the piney hops and is mostly bitter. That said, there is enough malt to make it mostly enjoyable. Refreshing but could have just a bit more of a malt presence.

Pine and floral hop aroma with some malts mixed in. Clear orange color with some white foam. Starts bitter mellowing in the finish. Slightly chewy palate.

Bottle. Orangish color - a bit cloudy. Quite hoppy. Somewhat malty, very well blended. Fairly strong.

The aroma is bitter with bits of berry and floral scents. The taste is biting hops with an almost cherry hint. A good beer on a hot summer day and beer I reach for again and again.

Pint Glass on July 12th, 2007. The appearance is a light amber/orange. Poured with little to no head. The aroma is bitter, floral, piny smells. The taste is very bitter, wow, just bitter! A hint of maltyness to it also. The bitterness is great. Just the way I like my beer to taste. Great!

Pours an orange amber color. Aroma is strong hop with floral and citrus notes. Taste is lemon with a wonderful hop characteristic. This is one of my favorite IPA’s.
