seeknay36 (109), Port Jefferson Station, New York, USA Sep 17, 2006 Tap at the brewery. Pours a dark golden yellow with a light to medium head, good lacing. Sweet aroma, hints of citrus. Sweet citrus flavor, good hop-ness. Good bitter finish, no illusion here! Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA Sep 1, 2006 Thanks illinismitty. Pours with a golden orange body topped by a thick head with lots of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and hoppy with nice grapefruit notes and an underlying pine note with a touch of malt. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty quickly turning bitter and hoppy with notes of pine and grapefruit. Medium bodied, smooth and a touch warming. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA Aug 26, 2006 Updated: Jan 21, 2007Nice golden orange pour with a full head. Aroma isn’t too strong, but hints at floral, citric hops. Watery and thin. Some hop bitterness, not much flavor. Lacking a lot in the malt department. Possibly a band-aid flavor, as well as metal in there somewhere. Overcarbonated. Quite the disappointment.
zug4abby (287), San Diego, California, USA Aug 25, 2006 Bottle obtained in a trade with Illinismitty... thanks Sean! Pours a clear, golden color with a medium head and very sticky lacing. Aroma is light and fruity with a slight hop hint that comes through in the back. Flavor is hoppy and piney with a slightly dry finish. Pretty good beer that I could definitely site and drink two or three of in a sitting! Thanks again Sean! OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Aug 19, 2006 12oz bottle via trade as a bonus with Notalush - Thanks Brandon! - Pours amber with a short white creamy head that stays well and laces the glass. Aromas of apricot, and light grapefruit over light caramel malts. Flavor is lots of apricot, some definite grapefruit at times. Good malt background with some sweet caramel and some grainy notes as well. Fairly bitter on the finish. Palate is light and well carbonated. Pretty clean feeling IPA overall. Very well balanced and quite drinkable jrohn92 (105), USA Aug 14, 2006 Very thick body with an intense bitter hop flavor and an intense sweet malt flavor. Has a hint of fruit. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Aug 13, 2006 bottle. orange with a medium head and good lacing. Aroma is of big citrus hops, taste is of sweet citrus, with a lasting slightly bitter finish. pretty decent ipa. Cobra (1060), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA Aug 9, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Best before Oct 06. Poured out a medium straw / light amber color. Has a thin white head, but hung on for the ride to the bottom of the glass. Aromas are of malts, some fruitiness as well. Hops make a major appearance. Flavors are of sweet malts, slight brown sugar, apricots. Medium mouthfeel, decent body. Good IPA in my book.
