Aromas of apricot, and light grapefruit over light caramel malts. Flavor is lots of apricot, some definite grapefruit at times. Good malt background with some sweet caramel and some grainy notes as well. Fairly bitter on the finish. Palate is light and well carbonated. Pretty clean feeling IPA overall. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Full amber with some suspended yeasties or whatever. The aroma is fairly stinging hops. The malt balances the hop bitterness well. The hops are a little harsh, but not too much so. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 4, 2006 Orange with a thick off-white head. Spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet grapefruit and pine resin. Sweet malts and spice flavours balanced out the hops, maybe a little too much so, and there was some residual yeast on the finish (though it could just be from this specific rack). Palate was basically watery for the style, but this beer is still very drinkable and it might appeal to those pale ale drinkers turned off by the "hop bombs" of some IPAs.
