HopBackDoc (393), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 17, 2006 Updated: Jan 19, 2007Bottle. Amber color with thin head dissolving into a thin film. Not much on the aroma, I really didn’t smell much at all. Nice hoppy, citrus flavor. Crisp and a dry bitterness throughout. I wish I had another bottle to taste again, this was an interesting beer. Good one for hop lovers. morehops (39), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 16, 2006 This is a great IPA. Full of citrus hops with a smooth body. Tried this brew because the distributor said I wouldn’t be dissapointed, and I wasn’t. obxdude10 (1546), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 10, 2006 Slightly hazy copper appearance, decent sized off-white head with good lacing around the glass, aroma full of hops, earth & citrus, full-bodied & very drinkable, beautifully hopped flavors with an excellent mix & blend of malt, very nicely balanced, slight pine & citrus flavors as well, nice malty finish with just the right amount of hops in the aftertaste, this beer begs you to keep coming back for more, and I, naturally, get sucked in & keep drinking it, great IPA
saint386 (4), Lancaster, New York, USA does not count Jun 9, 2006 Have had on draft, cask and in bottle. This is a hophead’s dream come true. Not too hoppy but just enough.Let’s cut to the chase...the answer is HOPS to all of the questions. They’re everywhere but in just the right amounts. Nice balance with the malt coming through just enough to prevent your tastebuds from being scorched off. Have to say that the cask version was by far the best IMO. tommy8768 (120), Litlle Compton, Rhode Island, USA Jun 8, 2006 Pours a yellow gold color, has good lacing but not much head. Has a slightly metallic tinge to it. VERY fruity hop taste, also malty and citrus and some pine flavor. A little bit of bitterness in the finish. Kind of watery. A pretty good IPA. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 2, 2006 Poured an amber-yellow color with a small head. Aroma was slightly hoppy with some wood and pine flavors detectable. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with minor carbonation. The flavor was woody, malty and enjoyable. Lacing was excellent while drinking. ryan (1774), Beltsville, Maryland, USA May 17, 2006 Pours a light amber with a medium sized, off-white head. The aroma is grapefruit, oranges, light caramel. Flavor is lightly bitter, oranges, grapefruit, sweet pale malts. The mouthfeel is thin. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 15, 2006 Filtered, transparent and glowing pale copper in color with a dense, fluffy and orange-tinted sponge about 2/3" thick for the head. Aroma speaks of cleansing agents and gummy prowess. Sticky caramel cubes, citric tropical oranges, spring rain on grass fields, burlesque pineapple and grapefruit summer coolers. Flavor gives recognition to the tropical ambivalence. Papaya and ripe oranges bring us to a retired fruit basket, interjected with a sense of V8 splash properties to keep the bitterness at pay. Some aluminum can reverb taints oranges, and transitions to pineapple bubble gum and grapefruit rind. Idle caramel and toffee linger calmingly. Body vanishes rapidly on the palate, along with honed carbonation and a general reluctance to fully introduce itself to the entire mouth. Everything’s antiquated, leaving sweet bready ideals in the finish with barely any note of bitterness. A decent pale ale, no more. Thanks for the bottle, tpkenned!
