Very citrus earthy resiny aroma. Really nice aroma. Taste is thick hoppy resiny, but well balanced by the malt. Finishes with a nice hoppy bitterness. OldGrowth (1426), North Carolina, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Draught at the New York Wine and Culinary Center. Medium copper color. Big grapefruit nose; frgrant hops. Lots of fruit with enough nice malt in the background. Very fruity flavor--mostly tropical, sweet and cloying with a bitter finish. Too sweet and fruity for me, and not very well integrated, though the hop character is original. fredandboboflo (1418), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, ever so slight malt. Flavor continues to lean very much toward the hops with JUST enough malt to keep it from lacking all body and character. Hangs on the edge of a 3+, but does firmly establish itself there by glass’s end. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Quite nice for an IPA. brewblackhole (1380), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Pours to a lovely, inviting hue of mandarin orange. Brightly hazed, like the sun through fog; a thin film of milk foam. Aroma is dried out green spices, grassy minerals, cotton candy, graham cracker and cookie dough. Balanced and quite understated. Flavor is a barren but soft bitterness of dried grass and pinecone hops; hints of jasmine tea, rosewater, and sesame seeds. Vague buttery sweetness riding on burnt corn kernels. Plenty of raw, bitter grapefruit and tangerine zest, but no real fruit qualities. Some wetter sweetness of malt leaks in on the mid palate with toffee and honey. Palate is creamy and dry; light to medium in body, and brisk. Finishes with a pleasant floral hop perfume; putting aside the dying whimpers of diacetyl and the hop presence that could stand a little more freshness, this is a refreshing, careful and delicate example. Thanks Larry!
