Great, strongly hoppy aroma - as expected with a good IPA. The flavor is also true to the style: A hint of sweetness, a good sharp bite. This is a nice bitter one for sure! The hops do linger, and they are definetly the highlight of the beer. Some grapefruit, some...green apple also. A nice new IPA without the sticky sweetness of many of the West Coast IPA’s. Earlier Rating: 7/25/2004 Total Score: 3.8 A decent IPA, but without a strong kick like I expect from the best IPA’s. I agree with Notalush about BP’s ESB - that is, their ESB is smoother and just as well-hopped, as well as cheaper. A nice beer that I would happily drink again. golubj (1300), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2007 Bottle. Citrus / grapefruity / grassy hops and a little bit of malt in the aroma. The malt flavor in this one is a little bready followed by the grassy citrus hop aftertaste. Good but not quite there. guzzler67 (1289), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 21, 2005 Totally clear amber appearance with some nice, thready lacing. Has all the characteristics of a very good American IPA, from the grapefruity, piney aroma to the bitter, generously hopped flavor. Long lasting finish with a good bite adds to the enjoyment. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2007 From a 12oz Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orangish amber color with a nice sustaining head of creamy white. Light, cleanly floral hop aromas of orange zest and clover blend nicely with some soft caramel malts. Light to medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. Well attenuated, dry texture with a soft biscuity malt beginning. The palate fades to some light citrusy hop characters and finishes with a grassy smack. Nice serving of hop flavors without a lot of bitterness. Thanks, Dan! JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Well made but typical. This would make a good go to beer if it was available here(it isn’t so I gotta thank Slob for it). Moderately bitter. Dry finish. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA

Beautiful gold with a large white head — looks great. Good hoppy nose. A bit thin in the mouth, dry and harsh. Moderate bitterness, not extreme like a DFH 90 or a Victory Hop Devil, but still without sufficient malt for balance. Not very complex and not very interesting. waolsen (1224), Littleton, Colorado, USA
