Heavy hop aroma of grass and pine needles. Nice bitter flavor full of earthiness like grass, weeds and a little grapefruit rind. Overall, a pretty solid IPA. Definitely the best one in Long Island. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2007 Pours gold with a little red. has a Small fizzy white head. Citrus and grassy hops are present, but not as strong as in most IPAs. Floral and fruity sweetness are also there, as well as some malt. Nice, but could use a stronger aroma. Medium, creamy body. Has a very good flavor, but again, not like an IPA. Sweet fruit, citrus, and floral hops are the most noticeable. A touch of grass comes through in the light bitter finish. I don’t see the india part of this pale ale. Pretty decent, though. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 8, 2005 While heavily hop flavored beers are getting a lot of attention and are a bit played out, I still enjoy them tremendously. This is a good example. Tons of American hop flavor (very distinct orange notes) without a great deal of bitterness. This one is fun--it nods in the direction of a hop monster, but doesn’t have the high alcohol content or thickness of the big ones. A session IPA to be enjoyed casually, which is to its credit. I will buy this one regularly, I believe. Arayaga2 (974), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

The hops were there, bit not present in the way the name would suggest. Mildly aromatic, mild tasting tourist IPA, not that there is anything wrong with that. $1.50/12oz blklab2007 (968), Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2009 bottle poured a light amber in color with a thin white head that became a ring quickly. aroma has bitter citrus hops, honey like sweetness, and caramel malt. mouth feel is light with a nice brisk carbonation. flavor definitely has a hop smack but there is a decent amount of malt as well. citrus, resins, medium bitterness, caramel, and a nice lingering finish. solid session brew. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
