Poured an amber-yellow color with a small head. Aroma was slightly hoppy with some wood and pine flavors detectable. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with minor carbonation. The flavor was woody, malty and enjoyable. Lacing was excellent while drinking.

On Tap at Isaac Newtons. No hop monster, but smooth and well balanced. Just a bit sweet, and pleasantly hoppy with some good citrus flavor. Good overall IPA.

Draft @ Frisco Grille in Columbia, MD. This is a respectable IPA. Tasty. I had this after a couple of other DIPA’s and it held up nicely in terms of flavor, mouthfeel and aroma. Pours hazy, light orange/amber with creamy one finger head. Nice lacing. Big tangy, juicy citrus hops aroma....though not as big as the Loose Canon I had before this. My first Blue Point and I will be havin’ mo’ fo’ sho’.

Nice cloudy amber color in the glass. Not a hops monster, but very well balanced. Citric and fruit flavors, finishes clean with a slight carmel taste. Very nice middle of the road IPA.

Pours a dark golden color with a slightly off white head. Aroma of grapefruits and pine. Full of hops. A great IPA.

Sampled at the Flour City Brewers’ Fest 2008. Blue Point Hoptical Illusion is a slightly sparkling golden ale with a dense white head that exhibits good retention. The aroma is spicy, fruity and grassy. It is medium bodied and smooth with a crisp finish. The flavor balance is good. It tastes a bit grainy and maybe slightly phebolic. Not bad.

Nice pine citrus smell. Hop bitterness but not too over the top. Very refreshing.

12 oz bottle courtesy Maltajo (the beast!). Pours a golden amber with a thick white head. Very citrus earthy resiny aroma. Really nice aroma. Taste is thick hoppy resiny, but well balanced by the malt. Finishes with a nice hoppy bitterness.
