| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 12, 2006 bottle-thanks to vyvvy for the sample. pours light orange with a small beige head around the rim of the glass. nose are citric with lots of floral hops, but somewhat soft. flavros are citric and light pale malts. really doenst have catch to it-pretty straight forward. this seems to be a delicate beer which should be sampled when very fresh. lots of subtle flavors, but hard to pinpoint what exactly. Maybe i will try it again. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2005 Sampled at the 2005 RBSG. Golden yellow out of the bottle with a very hoppy orange citrus nose. I found this beer to be all abou the hops, with not enough malt to support it. Candied orange peel that tailed off into a mild bitter finish. Okay IPA. Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2006 Hazy golden ale with a thick creamy lightly off white head. A light restrained hoppy floral aroma with resinous qualities. In mouth, a good malt with decent hopping, well balanced with the malt, with orangey notes, and light candy sweetness. Medium bodied. Classy. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 4, 2006 Orange with a thick off-white head. Spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet grapefruit and pine resin. Sweet malts and spice flavours balanced out the hops, maybe a little too much so, and there was some residual yeast on the finish (though it could just be from this specific rack). Palate was basically watery for the style, but this beer is still very drinkable and it might appeal to those pale ale drinkers turned off by the "hop bombs" of some IPAs. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2009 orangish with white head. moderate carbonation. grassy hop to the nose. solid hop bitterness comes through, some type of Western US hop. hop flavor with Columbus’s classic grassy notes. malt backbone comes through, but is somewhat metallic and not very enjoyable. clean finish, little esters, but some. an average IPA at best, but I do enjoy the Columbus usage.
