Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Oatmeal Stout is a rich, deeply malted extravaganza of a beer. The Oatmeal Stout is a dark beer drinker's dream come true. The Oatmeal Stout is made from Pale, Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Malts. In addition Flaked Oats are added to the mix and the outcome is an uncommonly silky brew. This legendary dark beer is full flavored and rich tasting. A romantically delicious microbrew to share with someone special.

On tap, 10/10/07. Pours black with very light tan foam, decent retention, decent lacing. Completely flat aroma, just a hint of malt and nothing else. Flavor is akin to slightly dark malty water, not a whole lot going on. Mouthfeel is very watery, no finish to speak of. Disappointing.

On tap at the New York Beerfest. This was bitter, lacking the expected smoothness of an oatmeal. All i tasted was hops. They completely dominated any malt. Not my idea of a sweet oatmeal!

cask- roasty, smooth, and delicious. I am really starting to like the sweet stouts, and this is a good, creamy and sessionable example.

Cask at Pizza Plant. Black body, minimal head (handpull), roasty nose. Nice sweet body with good coffee and chocolate notes, moderate bitterness, rich, smooth mouthfeel.

black, thin tan head, big coffee and roasted malt aroma, dry malt flavor, touch of roasted, very dry, lots of bitterness in the finish, a hint of malt bitterness but not too much, needs more character,

On tap at Blue Point... It had a light chocolate smell and taste, and was very enjoyable.

Pours a dark black with a tan head. Slow roasted malt flavor and aroma that is pretty well balanced and is not overpowering.
