Pour was straw golden to light amber in color with a nice pilsner-like head and lacing all the way down. The aroma was pilsy malts, grassy hops, honey, biscuity malts. The flavor followed, some caramel in there, but really a nice ofest-pilsnery type interpretation of the ofest style. Good strong hops presence over all the grainy and malty bigness. Mouthfeel was moderate, clean, especially for the flavor. Nice job! rampmaster (322), Alden, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a mug. There appears to be no freshness date on the label.
Appearance: The body has a deep golden to light amber color with very good clarity and lots of carbonation. Its head is just off white in color and fades down quickly to just a wispy thin layer which makes very little lacing.
Smell: In the nose there are notes of pale light malt, biscuits and a very light touch of herbal/floral hops. There is also a light sweetness and something that reminds me of smartlys candy.
Taste/Palate: It has a base of light roasted malt, grain and some biscuity flavors with mild sweetness. Hop flavor is light, mostly floral with some leafy and citrus notes on the finish. The finish also has the mildly sweet malt turning dry and crisp with more of a raw grain and husk character. The body has a light to medium feel and its carbonation is quite lively and a bit fizzy on the palate.
Notes: The head retention was a bit of a let down for me but it was still a tasty Oktoberfest style beer. It was a little bit lighter in color and body than most but it was very drinkable.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2009 Slightly cloudy dark golden in color with an ever so slightly off white head. The head was ’pillow-ee’ with some lace present. The aroma was ever so faint and disappointing given the head. Lighter crisp citrus flavors topped off with toasted bread short lived finish. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 5/5 | 9/20 | Sep 24, 2009 Weak mushroomy aroma of barley malt. Immaculately clear amber, with a thin white head. Barley flavor, a bit on the tinny side. Slightly creamy mouthfeel with tart cherries and vanilla in the end. An undetermined bitterness throughout. It has some unique qualities, but misses the mark too.
