Commercial Description:
Blue Point Octoberfest is another palate-pleasing seasonal brew. Originally brewed in 1810 to celebrate the betrothal of the Crown Prince of Bavaria, Blue Point continues the celebration by traditionally brewing this special malty amber lager every October. Octoberfest lager is stored cold for 2 months to ensure its distinct smooth flavor. Tap a pint and celebrate the season!

Bottle. Poured a clear dark golden amber. Malty, yeasty nose. Crisp flavor with a nice malt hop finish, well balanced and drinkable, albeit simple. Another good session brew.

This beer grew on me more and more as I drank it..Very drinkable. Good malt flavor, not overpowering hops. Very even palate. Could drink these all night.

On tap at the Harris Grill in EEnd Pgh. Nice find and a decent place, check it out! Slightly darker than pale yellow. tho clear, it has a a bit of orange in there. Tea froth head. Hints of sweetness in the beery aroma. Some hay in the initial taste impressions. Nice. Never gets over the top, quite nice! Fair and friendly. Not bitter like some fest beers. A tad barely bitter seems to try to put itself forward, but never quite gets there. You could not find bitter in this beer unless you were searching for it. Good tingly acceptable carbonation. Mild finish, lacking any hop character, what so ever. Overall? Not bad. Liked it! Easy to enjoy with it’s 5% alky content.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear copper with lasting flat head and some lace. Mild toasted caramel and aroms. Toasted caramel and lager grassiness. Fairly clean somewhat bitter finish. Medium-light body and medium carbo. Not bad. Nice and fresh because it’re brewed here and it’s still October, although I’m sure this will still be on local beer store shelves until next summer.

Smells hoppy and fresh. Tastes rich and malty with a nice light hop balance.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful amber fall beer. 1 finger head which dissipates to quickly for its body. Sweet malt, a bit nutty, and a bit like wet paper. Malty sweet and a touch of paper, lager all the way, a bit corny. Eh not so good.

It’s nice. It’s more of what an Oktoberfest style should be. Clear drinkin’ but copper colored, slightly spicy, not too shabby.
