Commercial Description:
Blue Point Octoberfest is another palate-pleasing seasonal brew. Originally brewed in 1810 to celebrate the betrothal of the Crown Prince of Bavaria, Blue Point continues the celebration by traditionally brewing this special malty amber lager every October. Octoberfest lager is stored cold for 2 months to ensure its distinct smooth flavor. Tap a pint and celebrate the season!

64 oz growler. Amber colur with some thin white head. Aroma shows thin maltiness and some of the same metallic/acrid smoky character that I find in several of their seasonal products of late. A bit of caramel and some appley notes. Flavour is thin-bodied, some toast and astringent hop bitterness. Pretty poor really.

Draft at DRE. Pours dark straw with off-white head. Nose is malt, midl brown sugar and hops. Tastes of malt, brown sugar, hops, a bit watery, with a smooth but not terribly complex finish, and some diacetyl noted also.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful amber fall beer. 1 finger head which dissipates to quickly for its body. Sweet malt, a bit nutty, and a bit like wet paper. Malty sweet and a touch of paper, lager all the way, a bit corny. Eh not so good.

Roasted amber color with a smallish head. Sweet malty aroma and a small head. Taste was a mild chocolate to go along with a sweet hoppy caramel thing. Tastes a bit more like a hopped up Amber than a Marzen. Also got some roasted wood chips.
